Colour psychology and sports — are they related?

It’s interesting to consider colour psychology — the way that different shades can affect our behaviour and way of thinking. Red supposedly boosts our confidence levels, yellow encourages us to become more energetic and wearing a men’s white shirt can give off the impression of being cool. Does this translate to when we’re playing sports too, though? Apparently so.
